We will close after the 2pm tour on Friday 20 December, and reopen for the 2pm tour on 3 January.
We run conducted tours of the Centre every day (except Mondays and Tuesdays) that last for about 1 1/2 hours, covering the hazard posed by asteroids and comets and what we can do about it.
Tours begin at 10.30 (May to September only), 2pm and 4pm. As the subject is fairly complex, and there is a lot of listening, we do not recommend tours for the very young
As the numbers of visitors on each tour is limited we recommend a call or email to confirm your places before you set out!
We are easily accessible from the main A4113 that passes through Knighton, and signed from the main road just east of the town.
The Centre is about 8 minutes drive up Llanshay Lane. If you are using SatNav or online maps with our postcode, ignore them for the last couple of miles and stay on Llanshay Lane until you see signs for the Spaceguard Centre (about 1.5 miles). To open a local map in a separate window use this link.
There is a regular train service to Knighton, but it is a long walk from the station! A taxi is a better solution.
Public Tours (suitable for ages 11+ – the subject is quite complex, and there is a lot of standing and listening)
